Medical News

For someone not into New Year Resolutions,

I may have to eat my words.

I went to two doctors this week and someone (named me) has to                      figure out how to connect the dots.

  • The Diabetic thing.  It's grown into something I can't ignore.

The Weight thing-- has a new first number.  (I'm not telling!!)

Yep. When all else fails I just sleep it off.  But now, even the bed   makes me hurt.

    Accountability... Accommodations.... Ridiculous!

I don't want to be seen as that person who others see as a joke.*

Would anyone agree with me that it's awful that so many of the

"funny" pictures of people on the People of Wal-Mart are either

     sickly or are obese?

Frauds and Scams on Facebook and Craigslist

Just in the last week and a half, I have had two very different fraud/scams come to me by way of my email inbox.

One was from an ad on Craigslist and another came from befriending someone I didn't really know on Facebook.  The one on CL had scam written all over it.  If I would agree to do something, there would be a money reward.

The FB ad was from someone asking me to be a friend, and when I agreed,  almost instantly I  got a message from them about how they saw my name on a list and I should contact a certain man to collect my money like she did.  I suspected this was fake and asked a bunch of question rather than going to the link.  I finally went to the link but never clicked on it.  The messenger was annoyed and disconnected.

I e-mailed the woman whose name the scamming person was using and asked her to contact me at my email address.  I wasn't sure I had a current address, so I also called the public library who told me to contact a federal US office.  I did call the federal government and the woman was rude and said the issue was handled at the state level.  I now called the state office, and she was pleasant, however, she didn't know what to do about it and just took notes for her supervisor.  The real person on Facebook soon contacted me. We went back and forth, and finally she told me she was hacked.  She was in Colorado and I live in Ohio.

BEWARE dear depressionheads, sometimes when we are depressed we want to believe in something good so badly that we may get tangled up in these acts of fraud.

Our Bond

Funny thing about a true friendship.
You expect to have things in common.
A bond we have is sleeping.

Maybe it's a school or work thing, children the same age, neighbors, common interests,
dreams, spirituality, future plans, whatever. It shouldn't be depression.

But here is the sad truth. Of my ten closest friends, three of us share the darkness of depression. Our job is to check on each other.
It's  winter now here in Ohio and I am trying to keep really busy so as to not go crazy.
I know I have that sun-deprived condition, and where I live, I see gray skies almost daily.
I don't mind the snow as much as I mind the gray.

So I get up do a few things, and by mid day shuck it all for the
love of my NAP.  We aren't messing with a power nap folks,
we are talking the real thing.

For me my nap makes me happy.  My pain stops.  Then I wake up, I mess around
doing what I enjoy for a few hours.  A full day becomes a half-day and it turns out
pretty well after all.

Today's message is not to criticize the SLEEPERS.
We are not lazy, nor are we faking it.
Sleeping refreshes our sad brains so that we can function.

 In Peace  Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z

Oh Sugar

I don't make new year's resolutions.

This year, actually, this month I am going to test myself. I plan to use lots less sugar.  I vow to avoid it as soon as I eat all the left-over chocolate, cake, candy and carbohydrates in the house right now.
Basically, overload my way to nothing left to eat.
